On September 11, we first had the opportunity to present Alca, and especially the Linka and Dot.Dot flush plate collection at the prestigious event Czech Design in London. This evening, organized by the Association of Czech Industrial Design (AČPD) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic and CzechTrade, attracted the British design elite and became a unique opportunity for the presentation of Czech design on the global stage.

Minimalism in colorful London

At the event, we presented the Linka and Dot.Dot flush plates from the world-famous designer Lucie Koldová. They impressed with their minimalist design, soft rounded lines and quality materials. It is an honor for us to be a part of such a project, said Stanislav Koryčánek, Export Director, who represented Alca at the event. Showcasing our flush plates amongst the world's best has opened the door to new business contacts and strengthened our presence in the UK market.

The quality of our products is also evidenced by the prestigious Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award, which confirm the successful combination of functionality and aesthetics that Alca is proud of.

Czech design in the limelight

As part of the event, a discussion took place with leading Czech designers, including David Karásek and Jakub Pollág, who presented a wide range of Czech design work to the British audience. Moderator Benedict Hobson, co-founder of Dezeen magazine, emphasized that Czech design combines traditional craftsmanship with innovation, which makes it unique. Guests had the opportunity to get to know not only the design of furniture and glass, but also innovative products, among which the metal products of Czech brands shone.

Exhibition on the embassy fence

An accompanying exhibition located on the fence of the Czech Embassy in Notting Hill Gate brings the visuals of leading Czech brands, including Alca, closer to passers-by. This unique outdoor project brings Czech design directly into a busy London public space, where people have the opportunity to admire the stories of brands such as Preciosa, Ton and USSPA.

The exhibition on the embassy fence is a great opportunity to introduce Czech design to the general public and reach a new audience, said Stanislav Koryčánek. This project brings our products closer to those who are just getting to know Czech design.

Opening the door to the UK market

Participation in Czech Design in London and the presentation of our collection significantly strengthened the awareness of the Alca brand. As the chairman of the AČPD, Martin Wichterle, emphasized, the promotion of the Made in Czech Republic brand is key to building the reputation of Czech industry on the world market. Meeting over 125 British designers, architects and business people provided a great opportunity to make new business contacts. These events are essential for expanding our export activities and building relationships in foreign markets, confirmed Stanislav Pluháček, Alca's marketing director.

We were proud to be part of this prestigious event, which opened up new opportunities for us and strengthened our position on the international market, concluded Koryčánek.
