In October, we presented our innovative products at the prestigious Home & Building Expo 2024 in Oman. Export Director Stanislav Koryčánek enthusiastically confirmed that this market has opened us the door to new opportunities and collaborations.
Why Oman?
The construction industry in Oman, the third-largest country in the Arabian Peninsula, plays a key role and contributes 9% to the GDP, making it a significant area for growth potential. Oman's ambitious Vision 2040 and development plan for 2021–2025 promise massive investments in housing and commercial construction, infrastructure and tourism. This opens up great opportunities for our products and technologies, which is why Oman has become a key market for Alca in this region. At the trade fair, we focused on finding distributors and showcasing our modern products, which we successfully achieved. We met with designers, architects and developers and scheduled several follow-up meetings, not only in Oman but also in Yemen. We believe that we will start cooperation soon,
says Stanislav Koryčánek, Export Director.
Current trends and market needs
Oman, like many other countries in the GCC region (Gulf Cooperation Council), realizes that oil reserves are not infinite, which is why they are actively seeking sustainable economic models. The country is increasingly relying on tourism and large-scale infrastructure development, which opens up great opportunities for modern construction solutions and innovations. "We perceive the development of tourism as a fundamental driving force for increased demand for modern sanitary technologies and construction solutions," says Koryčánek.
When it comes to bathrooms and installations, the local market is moving towards European trends. We see that new installations are abandoning traditional Arab toilets in the floor and prefer modern wall-mounted toilets,
says Stanislav Koryčánek. Design trends such as black, gold or gun-metal taps and accessories are gaining popularity just like in Europe.
Future opportunities and cooperations
Growing construction activity focused on tourism brings new business opportunities not only in Oman, but also in other GCC countries. Countries realize that their economies must find new sources of income, and construction industry will be one of the key sectors in this transition,
adds Koryčánek. Cooperation at trade fairs organized by CzechTrade provides us with an effective way to develop business opportunities in regions where investments have yet to be verified. Our participation in Home & Building Expo 2024 was the next step in our expansion into the Middle East and we look forward to the new business opportunities that this dynamic market will bring.
