Alca is celebrating its 25th birthday with the opening of the new distribution hall E. From the modern building, the size of which corresponds to thetwo and a half football fields, all Alca Group products will be shipped throughout Europe.
The new Hall E for hundreds of millions Czech crowns, represents one of the largest buildings in the company's history. "We are proud to have build up a hall that will simplify the work to our employees but at the same time is a proof of the company's technological maturity," says Radka Prokopová, co-owner and Executive Director of Alca Group. The object was built in a record short time of eight months.
The new hall can store up to 17,500 pallets of goods and is four times as large as current one. A revolutionary element are the drop shelves, where the pallets are stored on one side, and on the other side they slide down on a roller track, removed and placed directly to the trucks. The operation of hall E is based on modern technologies. It is heated, for example, by waste heat from the neighboring production hall C using a built-in energy channel underground. Almost the entire roof of the hall will be covered by a 1 megawatt photovoltaic power plant. In combination with the solar panels on the roofs of the other halls, in sunny weather the entire production area generates more energy than it consumes.
The new hall also includes a three-floor administrative building. In addition to offices and spacious changing rooms, there is also a room for truck drivers. The new facilities will offer them superior equipment, such as a kitchenette, showers with hot water or internet connection.
